Raising funds for the next generation

Overall Campaign Goal: $40,000

This year as the campaign season launches, we are so grateful for 12 years of amazing leaders taking part in the program. Our mindset is centered around ensuring the opportunity is available for 12 MORE years and beyond. From Day 1, the mission of Leadership South Dakota has been to connect with, and further develop leaders from every corner of the state.

To foster this diversity of voices and participants in the Leadership South Dakota program, the need for scholarships is critical. Knowing this, the focus of the annual giving campaign is to increase scholarship funds in order to live out our mission and build for the next generation of SD leaders.

Funds raised will be utilized for these 3 key areas:

Scholarships and Travel Stipends for course participants (60%)
Alumni Activities (like Encore) (30%)
Leadership impact opportunities (giving to other Leadership programs and alumni non-profits) (10%)

The dollars raised in our 2024 giving campaign helped support all seven students who requested tuition and/or travel assistance scholarships have their requests fulfilled in this year's Leadership SD class and helped us launch our first-ever Encore West River alumni retreat in May.

Because of your gifts the past four years, 34 participants have received scholarship for tuition and/or travel assistance requested since we've began the campaign. Since our first giving campaign in 2021, no one has been denied acceptance due to inability to pay. Thank you for your willingness to participate and for your generosity year after year.
