Networking Emerges As Key To Leadership SD
When the Leadership South Dakota program was launched, we held tightly to three guiding principles for the program. Basically, we wanted our class members to:
- See places that most people don’t see
- Meet people that most people don’t meet
- Learn leadership principles that will help them lead in their local businesses and communities
While we still believe that the three principles above capture the essence of Leadership SD, we are beginning to realize that the third bullet is being replaced by a more important and relevant guiding principle. That principle is below:
- Network with other professionals who will improve my leadership abilities
Given the fact that NETWORKING has become such an integral part of the Leadership South Dakota program, we have hired Roshal Rossman to help us cultivate and strengthen our relationship with our growing group of alumni. Please join us in welcoming Roshal to the Leadership South Dakota team.
We are open to your ideas about future alumni activities that may be of interest to you and your classmates.
Best wishes for a blessed holiday season.
The next generation of leaders for South Dakota starts here.

Alumni And Marketing Coordinator Seeks Feedback
Greetings, Leadership SD Alumni! My name is Roshal (Franken) Rossman and I joined Leadership SD as the Alumni and Marketing Coordinator in October. I grew up in Watertown, graduated from SDSU, and currently work at Human Service Agency as a Tobacco Prevention Coordinator for the South Dakota Tobacco Control Program. My husband, Nick, works for the South Dakota Department of Game, Fish and Parks as a Regional Wildlife Manager. We live in Watertown and keep busy chasing after our 18-month-old son, Asher, and our yellow lab, Belle. I look forward to “meeting” you all in the near future—either in-person or via e-mail! Please reach out and let me know what information you would like to see represented in future newsletters, so I can be sure to include content that is interesting to our Leadership SD Alums. Thank you for your leadership in South Dakota!

Alumni Updates Are Welcomed And Appreciated
One goal of the Alumni Newsletter is to keep Alumni updated on one another. In future newsletters, there will be a section designated to sharing updates that are submitted by Alumni. Any time you have an update you are willing to share, please send it via email to Roshal and she will include it in the next newsletter. The type of updates we hope to capture include a change of job, a promotion, a birth or adoption of a child, a marriage, an award or recognition you receive, etc. Additionally, whenever you have a change in contact information, please send Roshal an email to let her know. If you prefer that your change in contact information not be published in the newsletter, please communicate that. We primarily want updates on contact information to ensure we have your most current contact information on file. Please let Roshal know if you have any questions or updates!
